Air conditioning cooling tower structure composition, flow estimation and maintenance
Cooling tower, as the heat exchange equipment of the refrigeration unit, its core function lies in the heat exchange between the low-temperature air driven by the fan and the water in the filler in the tower, so as to effectively reduce the water temperature. The equipment is mainly composed of fans, motors, filler layer, water broadcasting system, tower structure and water collection disk and other core components. The structural composition of the cooling tower mainly includes the following key parts:
Tower body: the tower body is the main structure of the cooling tower, usually made of steel, fiberglass or other corrosion-resistant materials, used to support and accommodate the various components inside the cooling tower. The shape and size of the tower body is designed according to specific needs and can be round, square or other shapes.
Fan: The fan is one of the core components of the cooling tower and is usually located at the top or side of the tower. It generates airflow by rotating to introduce air into the tower and exchange heat with water. The type of fan can be axial or centrifugal, and the specific choice depends on the design and usage requirements of the cooling tower.
Packing: Packing is located inside the tower to provide the largest possible heat exchange area for water and air. Packing is usually made of plastic, metal or other corrosion-resistant materials, and its shape and structure are optimized to improve heat exchange efficiency. Common types of packing include sloped ladder wafers, point wafers, etc.
Drenching device: The drenching device is used to evenly spray cooling water onto the packing to form a water film to increase the contact area with the air. The design of the drenching device directly affects the cooling effect of the cooling tower, so it needs to be selected and optimized according to the actual situation.
Water collector: The water collector is located at the outlet of the tower, used to recover the water droplets taken away by the air flow and reduce the loss of water. The design and material selection of the water collector is crucial to the water-saving performance of the cooling tower.
Sink or Catch Basin: The sink or catch basin is located at the bottom of the cooling tower and is used to receive and store the cooling water dripping from the filler. The capacity and shape of the water tank are designed according to the usage requirements of the cooling tower to ensure sufficient water storage capacity and good water circulation.
The construction and design conditions of the water tower are indicated in the manual, and now the unit of tons is the more commonly used unit in the international arena. In the calculation of the selection is more convenient, another cooling tower in the selection should be left about 20% of the margin.
