thermal comfort

Traditional thermal comfort standards do not take into account the thermal comfort needs of China's continuously growing overweight or obese population, which may have important implications for human comfort and building energy efficiency. This paper explores the differences in subjective and physiological responses of people with different body mass index (BMI) in a cooler environment. The results show that: the average skin temperature of high BMI people is significantly lower than that of low BMI people and decreases with decreasing temperature; the metabolic rate of high BMI people is lower than that of low BMI people in a cooler environment, which leads to a higher percentage of thermal dissatisfaction than that of low BMI people, even though there is no significant difference; and it is necessary to predict thermal sensation separately for different BMI people.

Copeland Leads Industry in Green Innovation with 50HP Large Scroll Compressor Solution

Against the backdrop of today's global warming and increasingly stringent energy efficiency requirements, the HVAC industry is facing unprecedented challenges and opportunities. As a global provider of sustainable environment optimization solutions, Copeland is once again leading the industry to new milestones with its innovative spirit and technological prowess.

In March 2024, Copeland announced the launch of its newly developed 50HP Large Scroll compressor solution, filling the gap of the industry's large horsepower scroll compressor. The solution innovatively realizes cold capacity enhancement and can replace the application of small-cooling capacity screw compressors, which will help users in air conditioning, heating and other fields to realize the double benefit of corporate value and social value, and promote the industry to high efficiency, low carbon and green development. The debut of this new product not only marks a new level of technological progress for Copeland compressors, but also brings the industry a new option to realize the goal of environmental sustainability.

High-efficiency refrigeration plant room design summary and discussion

In China's public buildings, the energy consumption of refrigeration plant rooms occupies the vast majority of the energy consumption of air conditioning and ventilation systems, with its energy consumption accounting for about 70%. Seven ministries and commissions, including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Finance, jointly issued the Green and Efficient Refrigeration Action Program on June 13, 2019, which explicitly requires that by 2030, the energy efficiency of refrigeration in large-scale public buildings will be improved by 30%, the overall level of energy efficiency in refrigeration will be improved by more than 25%, the market share of green and efficient refrigeration products will be increased by more than 40%, and an annual power saving of 400 billion In October 2021, in order to realize the "double carbon" goal, China has successively issued relevant working opinions and action programs on carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and clearly defined the development goal of energy transformation. Therefore, the efficient design of refrigeration plant rooms not only meets China's national conditions and policies, but also reduces energy consumption and promotes the high-quality development of related industries and green low-carbon transformation.

Ducted vs. central air conditioning, which is better?

Recently home renovation, 3 rooms, 2 halls. 110M2 or so (excluding the evil common share) If you want to get a cabinet unit, it takes up space, not to mention. At least 4 cabinets. The installation is too troublesome. The line is also more ugly.
Before considering the home central air conditioning. Then I heard the designer say that there are also air duct units.
The designer said that central air conditioning is more expensive than ducted units. And the effect is the same. And the central air conditioning requirements for the ceiling is higher than the air duct. It will sacrifice the floor height.
I checked before and no one came to ask about the difference between the 2. But there is talk of ducted units being a type of central air conditioning as well.
